Graphic Design - Motion Graphics
Communication and productive collaboration are equally important, and a key to design success. In addition, understanding a client’s needs helps to reach their target market effectively. It’s important to be able to communicate fresh ideas too. I am always looking to learn and grow, you can learn something from anybody. My skillset diversity, creativity and communication skills are my strongpoints.
I have a passion for visual communications and love the challenges of every project I do.
Branding Success
The identity of a company is the foundation of all marketing efforts. For a company that is established, maintaining brand equity is important. Even when updating the brand, which should be done every 3 years. This involves sticking to the core elements of the brand design. What is established and recognized, should stay consistent.
For a company starting out, developing a brand involves an analysis of the competition and identifying the core styles that will both elevate the business, and play well through web applications and print collateral.
Graphic Composition
Graphic design involves image choice, typography and color composition. My preference is to work with custom photography rather than stock imagery. It’s hard to find images that are not posed, contrived or cliche in stock libraries. It also takes time to search and find the right image, rather than taking the picture needed, done deal.
When it comes to color composition and typography, retaining brand integrity is the first consideration. Once a basic design style is established, maintaining that consistency creates a professional look and presentation that represents the brand well.
Motion Graphics
I use Adobe After Effects partnered with Adobe Illustrator for my motion graphics projects. Most of what I do is composed by instinct. The elements are my guide. With each unique project, there are certain foundational elements that are in place. Together with the script, I animate what makes sense. I create a theme, and let that theme carry each piece of animation.
Project organization is important as well. It’s easy to get lost in assets, so labeling and asset organization helps with both the original cut, and the ease of revisions forward. Establish the look and theme, stay organized and maintain consistency.
